Regardless of how many people they employ from their local area, businesses are an important part of the community they reside in. Business involvement with local charity and support groups can provide meaningful partnerships. From raising funds and awareness or even offering employee volunteering it’s a great way to give something back.

This Christmas we’re supporting our local communities in a more personal way. Each site has nominated two charities to receive Christmas funds. This is in lieu of sending Christmas cards to our clients and contacts.

Here’s a run-down of who our business is supporting for Christmas 2019.

Winterbotham Darby, Redhill

Loveworks, based in Reigate runs two busy foodbanks in Merstham and Woodhatch giving out food parcels and energy top-ups to families in need. From July 2018-19 they’ve seen an 85% increase of users – giving out 1,470 food parcels (15,300kg of food). The majority of this came from donations of food that would equate to £30,000.

Throughout the year, we support the Loveworks foodbanks with regular food donations from staff. We also donate money raised from staff food giveaways. Our total for 2019 sits at around

Wildlife Aid FoundationWildlife Aid Foundation

The Wildlife Aid Foundation is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. Since 1980 the charity’s veterinary wildlife hospital in Leatherhead, Surrey deals with more than 20,000 wildlife emergencies every year. They were the focus of Wildlife SOS on Discovery Channel’s ‘Animal Planet‘.

This Christmas we are also donating dog and cat food, dog toys and a range of other essential supplies that they need on a daily basis, to keep the foundation running.
