In a previous post we announced our sponsorship of Food Film Shorts, a category of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year awards. Today we meet the two new category judges.

Here in our development kitchen we’re constantly working with new and exciting ingredients and there’s rarely a day that goes by when we don’t have something tasty to sample. Food trends and tastes really do excite us. By sponsoring the award, we get to involved with lots of other food and drinks brands such as M&S, Champagne Taittinger and Errazuriz which is pretty exciting.

we want to be made hungry and see delicious food but are also open to being challenged with thought-provoking content

We also love films of food. As most of the products we produce are own-label we don’t get the chance to promote them and if we see them on the big or small screen we’ve not been involved in the marketing/creation process. So another reason to sponsor this category is that it also gives us a great opportunity to be inspired not only by food, but creative film makers and fellow foodies.

Who are the new judges?

Recently we met with Tom Jackson and Harry Bamber, our latest editions to the Food Film Shorts category judging panel, who are the co-founders of food channel Twisted. They are constantly planning and creating food films for the channel being inspired by what’s hot, previous successes, Pinterest and trends.

What are they looking for?

We wanted to find out more about them and how they make their films but more importantly, as judges, what they are looking for in the Food Film Shorts that will be entered of the 2019 Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Award.

So to summarise, they want to see ….

  • an element of fun brought to entries, we want to be made hungry and see delicious food but are also open to being challenged with thought-provoking content.”
  • a film which is clear, passionate and unique. Add your own flair to the film.

Entries for all categories, including the films, are now open – and for this category you could win £1,000.

What we ask of that you make us HUNGRY, make us THINK, make us SMILE or CAPTIVATE us……with your food film short, anything from just a few seconds to 3 minutes long.
